TAPA (Temple Academy of Performing Arts) has been a nurturing ground for young dancers since 1997, and we’re proud to say it's all led by Nicki Temple, who not only trained at The London College of Dance and Drama but also holds the prestigious title of Licentiate of the I.S.T.D. Nicki’s vision is what drives us as a school, and her passion is at the heart of everything we do here at TAPA.
We follow the ISTD syllabus to ensure a structured and progressive learning experience. Our examination sessions are a great way for students to build confidence and see their hard work pay off as they move through each level, acquiring new skills along the way.
From the age of 2, children come to us and embark on their dance journey in a variety of disciplines. We create a fun and relaxed environment where kids can really enjoy their lessons while we help each one reach their full potential.
Beyond dance, we offer options to take LAMDA exams and join our highly successful Theatre Company. There's also the potential to be represented by our talent agency, Ignite, run by Josie Brightwell.
We love putting on shows, and we’re often invited to perform at local fetes and displays. For those who are more committed, there’s the chance to enter local competitions and even regional championships.
Our teachers bring a wealth of industry experience and many are still actively working in the field, which means our students get top-notch training.
Our motto, “A Home from Home,” is a nod to our origins in Miss Nicki’s family home, where we operated for 18 years before expanding to multiple venues. Now, TAPA is housed in the beautiful grounds of The Warren and the historic Old Church School Halls in the heart of Hayes.
Some of our students have had the incredible experience of dancing in West End shows, performing at Disneyland Paris, and competing in various dance competitions. We’re also thrilled to see our kids succeed in Netflix series, TV shows, and commercials.
